On Exposing Ourselves to Triggering Situations
Becoming triggered can be useful. It can show us the situations that scare parts of us.
But once we have this information, we don't need to stay in these situations.
If we're interested in healing these parts and dissolving their conditioning, we'll have a much easier time helping them when they're not in the midst of a situation that triggers them.
One of the most healing things we can do is meet our parts with the loving presence that's natural to our essential Self.
But we can't do that if we're blended with the perspectives of our parts, and we will almost certainly be blended with our parts when we're in situations that trigger them.
Once our parts have healed to some degree, we can see what it's like for them to be in situations that had previously triggered them. (Assuming it's a situation we genuinely want to be in.)
And if possible, we can titrate the experience for our parts.
And as the part become more comfortable with the experience and gains trust in Self, we can increase the exposure.
