Stating Truth
Contemplating what is or is not ultimately true can help unravel false and harmful beliefs.
It can also confound the thinking parts of our minds so profoundly that we relax and open to the truth of direct experience.
But I don't offer statements of truth to contemplate as much as I used to, and I think there are a few reasons for that.
It's been done well already.
Many of our parts are too afraid to let go of their beliefs, and contemplating truth won't necessarily change that.
There's a risk that parts of us will turn a statement of truth, which is meant to be contemplated and explored experientially, into a new belief to defend.
I'll say more on 2 in the next post, and I'll say more on 3 in the post to follow that one.
